Set on two hectares of grounds, Samsara Living Museum warmly welcomes visitors who wish to learn a wide variety of rituals in the Balinese life cycles. Named after the cyclical nature of human life, built as a community and cultural destination in the heart of East Bali.

From the symbolism behind the ceremonies to the significance of the Genjek performance as a social expression, a visit to the living museum enriches the understanding of the importance of culture, heritage and cuisine in Balinese life.

The East Bali Experience begins with an invitation to make and taste Laklak, a traditional pancake topped with shredded coconut and palm sugar syrup. Held in the resort’s Lobby Bar, learn how to flip the pancake in its hot clay pot, and pair the sweet and savory delicacy with tea or coffee for a true Balinese treat. The experience is priced at Rp65,000++, which includes a serving of Laklak and coffee or tea. Guests are invited to sit down, savor the delicacy and enjoy a special art exhibit from the Samsara Living Museum.

The party continues until night at Tabia Restaurant. Taste the authenticity of East Bali flavors through dishes made with fresh and seasonal ingredients from the market, as well as traditional cooking techniques. Carefully prepared by the culinary team at Samsara Living Museum and The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali; guests can opt for the Atiti Bojane or Megibung set menus.

The Atiti Bojane set menu priced at Rp195,000++/person is adequate for one. Served generously on a plate mounted on a pedestal, it is made of Ayam Betutu, Tum Ayam, Sate, Kacang Gerang, and various other seasonings. True to its name, Megibung’s set menu (Rp350,000++/two people) is a feast to share. The highlights include four types of fruits, vegetables and meat Lawar, Sayur Blimbing, Pesan Ikan, Daging Timbungan and a few other condiments.

“We recognized our guests’ needs to experience local culture and learn something new during their stay. By collaborating with Samsara Living Museum, we want to offer our guests an enriching culinary and artistic experience that they can take home after a memorable Eat Well and Feel Good vacation in Bali,” says I Wayan Raksa, General Manager of The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali.
